Baramulla, Dec 2: The newly appointed Principal of Government Medical College Baramulla, Dr. Majid Jehangir, announced his commitment to transforming the institution into one of the best healthcare facilities in the valley.
During media interaction, Dr. Jahangir declared that efforts will be made to significantly reduce the referral of patients to Srinagar. He acknowledged the logistical challenges associated with operating a large medical facility at GMC Bla. that serves a substantial volume of patients, particularly in northern Kashmir. He expressed his dedication to addressing the high influx of trauma cases and reaffirmed his commitment to providing excellent healthcare services for trauma and maternity patients at the college, thereby minimizing the need for referrals to LD Hospital.
Dr. Jehangir also revealed plans to establish ICU facilities at the college in the near future.
Recognizing the logistical hurdles, he described the task of enhancing the college’s capabilities as challenging but pledged to work diligently toward making it one of the top healthcare providers in the valley.
He also underscored the importance of collaborative efforts to elevate the institution to a premier healthcare status.
