Srinagar, June 18 : After a senior assistant of power development department (PDD) in South Kashmir’s Ananthnag district testing positive for COVID-19, authorities has began contact tracing of its co-employees and also sanitised the building.
An official told Kashmir Despatch that a senior assistant at PDD department at Achabal area of Ananthnag on Wednesday tested positive for COVID-19. The official said that the workplace has been disinfected and sanitised as per prescribed norms.
An incharge officer at PDD department Achabal Kousar Ahmad also confirmed to Kashmir Despatch and said department has taken all needful measures to ensure the safety of its employees, he said contact tracing has also been started whom he may have came in physical contact. The officer said 55 year old employee was on home quarantine since last week and after that he was admitted at GMC Ananthnag where he tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday evening.
