Police on Thursday claimed to have identified those people who defied the procedural protocol and participated in the last rites of slain militant in Sopore village have been identified.
Police officer said, we started the investigation and subsequent identification of those who participated in the funeral of killed militant in saidpora yesterday.
As per top police official the matter is being investigated on fast track basis and some of the participants who flayed government directions and took part in funeral procession have been identified through pictures/ videos circulated on social media and will be arrested shortly.
The officer said that the participation in funeral procession of the slain militant in such numbers not only violates the set guidelines issued by the govt in wake of covid-19 but also exposes the entire population in the area to the pandemic.
The lockdown in the Sopore has also been intensified and people have been requested not to venture out in any circumstances barring medical exigencies.
