“Persons With Disabilities Are Integral Part of Society, Deserve Equal Opportunities”: DIG South Kashmir
Anantnag, Dec 3 : Deputy Inspector General (DIG) South Kashmir, Javid Iqbal Matoo, on Wednesday emphasized the importance of empowerment, dignity, and equal opportunities for persons with disabilities, stating that they are “a vital part of our community with exceptional strengths and abilities.”
Speaking at a programme organized to observe the International Day of Persons with Disabilities at Zaiba Appa Institute of Inclusive Education, Bijbehara, DIG Matoo as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC said that both society and institutions share a collective responsibility to create inclusive and supportive environments where specially-abled individuals can showcase their talents.
He appreciated the institute’s dedication toward inclusive education and praised its continued efforts in nurturing confidence and independence among students with disabilities.
DIG Matoo urged all stakeholders to sustain and strengthen initiatives aimed at supporting, uplifting, and empowering persons with disabilities so they can lead dignified, independent, and fulfilling lives.
