Srinagar, Nov 11: If you’re planning to explore the breathtaking terrains of Kashmir, there’s a simple yet important step to ensure your safety: register your trek with the police. By informing the nearest police station about your travel plans and expected routes, you can enjoy your adventure with an added layer of security.
Kashmir police chief Vidhi Kumar Birdi emphasized the importance of this practice, especially in areas that may be affected by security operations. “This protocol allows us to act swiftly to ensure trekkers’ safety in case of any unexpected incidents,” he stated.
The police also encourage everyone—locals, tourists, and particularly trekkers—to use the helpline services, like dialing 100, to report any situation needing immediate attention. This proactive communication enables the police to provide quick assistance while effectively managing ongoing operations.
The development comes after the two trekkers were accidentally stuck in the anti-militancy operation in the woods of summer capital Srinagar on Sunday, how’ver the trekkers were rescued after they dialled 100 and informed cops.
