SRINAGAR, Mar 5: Just a day ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Kashmir on March 7, 2024, BJP workers are buzzing with excitement, while local residents eagerly await potential development packages from the PM.

Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch state that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unit in Kashmir is in full swing, with all arrangements made ahead of the PM’s visit.

A top BJP leader told Kashmir Despatch that the stage is set for the Prime Minister to hold a maiden rally in Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370. He mentioned that people from across the valley are coming to participate in the rally.

Welcome gates, buntings, hoardings, and flags have been put up throughout the city to give it a festive look. Roads, lanes, and streets have been cleaned and sanitized to ensure that everything is in shipshape when PM Modi arrives here.

Approximately 300 hoardings have been set up across the city, and around 10,000 flags have also been placed in the summer capital city of Srinagar. The BJP leader stated that, ahead of the visit, there will be a musical evening featuring top singers and artists from the valley at Polo View.

Senior BJP leaders are also participating in the musical evening to celebrate the upcoming mega rally, as Kashmir has witnessed significant development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the last four years.

Vehicles have been deployed across all districts of the valley for the workers and people who are eagerly waiting to participate in the event. The leader mentioned that an expected gathering of 2 lakh people will participate in the rally to listen to the Prime Minister at Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar.

BJP National Executive Member, Party’s J&K Core Group Member & Chairperson of Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi told Kashmir Despatch that people in Kashmir are ready to welcome our PM with enthusiasm.

Dr Andrabi said that “Our beloved Prime Minister is coming to Kashmir on March 7. Every Kashmiri wants to give a warm welcome. Not only the party workers are excited but the people of Kashmir are equally excited. Men and women are saying that their son or brother is coming and they want to see him.”

“The people feel that with the vision and strong decision making by Modi Ji after August 5, 2019, the dark era ended here after 35 years. Every Kashmiri is fond of PM Modi and his policies. The votes would be for PM Modi only. Firse ek baar, Modi Sarkar aur abki baar 400 ke paar”, she added.

Meanwhile, there is a general positive view about PM Modi’s visit among the common people connected with trade, travel, tourism, hospitality, small-scale industries, handicrafts, etc.

Farooq, a hotelier, told Kashmir Despatch that PM Modi has never come empty-handed to J&K. He has always brought good news for the local economy whenever he came here in the past.

He expressed hope that this time, too, something good will be announced, and they are all very hopeful. Similarly, locals engaged in small-scale industries, handicrafts, tourism, travel, hospitality, and transport are expecting some good news from PM Modi during this visit.
