Police, Army Busts Militant Hideout Along LoC In Kupwara

Srinagar, March 31 : Government forces on Tuesday busted a militant hideout close to Line of Control (LoC) in Keran sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Reports said that at around 7:00 a.m., a joint team of army’s 6 RR and SOG of police carried out a raid near Kishan Ganga along the LoC.

Confirming it, an army officer said that the operation was carried out following the specific information about the arms and ammunitions have been kept inside the hideout by the militants.

The joint team recovered one AK 47, one AK56 with six magazines, one Chinese pistol with one magazine and 180 rounds from the hideout, the officer said.

Meanwhile, a police officer also confirmed the recovery and said that a case has been registered under relevant sections of law in this connection and further investigations were taken up. (GNS)
