Sopore September 02:Continuing its drive against drug dealings in Sopore, Police have arrested a notorious drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
Officers at a checkpoint established at Seer Crossing intercepted an individual identified as Showkat Ahmad Bhat son of Mohammad Rajab Bhat resident of Manzseer Sopore. During checking, officers were able to recover 240 capsules of Spasmo Plus and 50 grams of Charas from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to PS Tarzoo where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 88/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Tarzoo and further investigation has been taken up.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace as reiterated in our community.
