Awantipora 24 September: In a significant action against illegal liquor trade, Police Awantipora have arrested a person and seized illicit liquor from his possession.
A Police party of PS Awantipora headed by SHO PS Awantipora Inspector Ajaz Hmad, during a routine patrolling at Awantipora, intercepted a suspicious person carrying a bag who tried to flee after noticing police party but was apprehended tactfully. He has been identified as Bahrat Moosiyar son of Rawa Moosiyar Resident of Bigam Bihar Bitiyar
During search, 07 bottles of illicit liquor were found in the bag. He has been arrested and shifted to police station.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 197/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at PS Awantipora and investigation has been initiated.
