Date:

December 29: Acting tough against drug peddlers and to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police booked 3 most wanted and notorious drug smugglers under PIT NDPS Act in Baramulla and lodged him in Central Jail Kot-balwal Jammu.

The most wanted and notorious drug smugglers namely Suhail Ahmad Sofi son of Ghulam Hassan, Zahoor Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Ahmad both residents of Solinda Khaipora Tangmarg & Waseem Ahmad Dar son of Mohammad Sultan resident of Watalpora Tangmarg have been booked under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent Authority. The booked drug smugglers have been detained and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-balwal Jammu.

Pertinent to mention that many cases are registered against these drug smuggler and were involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth of Tangmarg areas & other areas of the District. Despite their involvement in many FIR’s they did not mend their activities and were again involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth.
