Police detain six Jamaat-e-Islami activists in Tral

Date:

Pulwama: Six Jama’at-e-Islamia activists were detained by the police during fresh raids in various villages of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, sources said on Friday.

A source said six Jama’at activists were detained from Laribal, Pinglish, Dardsara, Panner, Mandoora and Lurgam villages of Tral last night.

The detainees were lodged at police station Tral, he said.

The fresh raids took place hours after the home ministry imposed a ban on the socio-religious organisation.

Hundreds of activists and leaders of the organization were detained during raids by the police last week. (GK)
