Police in north Kashmir’s Sopore on Thursday have prevented a girl from committing suicide in the Jamia area of town.
Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said a police party led by SHO Khalid Fayaz, after receiving information from locals about noticing a girl’s movement as doubtful, rushed towards her and foiled her suicidal attempt.
Meanwhile, A police officer told Kashmir Despatch that the girl has been rescued and, after proper counseling, will be handed over to her family.
Pertinently, this is the same location where a teenage girl last month jumped into the river Jehlum; however, after a lot of efforts, her body has yet to be retrieved.
