Sopore, Mar 20: The Sopore Police set an inspiring example on Wednesday as officers joined together to bury a deceased man in the town.

This incident showcases the evolving police-public relationship in the region, highlighting the positive changes that have occurred since the abrogation of Article 370.

Last month, a reshuffle within the Police Department in Kashmir evoked deep emotions among local residents. As officers bid goodbye, the community expressed their heartfelt love and gratitude for their selfless service.

Today, another touching incident took place when Dysp Hqrs. Sarfaraz Bashir, Dysp DAR Dr Hilal Ahmad joined shoulders to bury a 40-year-old man who was found dead near his house in the Duroo area of Sopore.

The police not only initiated a thorough investigation but also actively participated in his last rites.

The emotional moment was seen when SP Sopore Divya-D (IPS) joined the women who were mourning the loss of their family member.

A video accessed by Kashmir Despatch shows SSP Sopore Divya-D (IPS) assuring the family that justice will be delivered if anyone involved in this crime is found, they will be dealt with strictly.

This act of compassion and unity has touched the hearts of local residents, who now perceive the police in a new light.
