SRINAGAR, Mar 13: Srinagar police on Thursday established a QR code-based accountability and feedback system with centres being set up across all police stations in the district.

Speaking with reporters during an awareness programme on New Criminal Laws, Senior Superintendent of Police Srinagar Imtiyaz Hussian said that this system will allow residents to share feedback and what they expect from the police.

He added that if any changes are required, those will be implemented accordingly. The SSP said that peace in Kashmir has come after countless sacrifices. “In the last 35 years, terrorism and other issues have caused immense suffering. However, due to the efforts of the Centre, J&K government, police, and locals, we have successfully created an atmosphere of peace. Now, it is the responsibility of everyone to protect this peace,” he said.

He also said that through New Criminal Laws government’s aim is to provide “free and fast justice” and hold the criminal justice machinery, including the police, judiciary, and prosecution accountable.
