SRINAGAR, June 26: In a significant show of unity and shared responsibility, Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha chaired an all-party meeting at Raj Bhawan Srinagar on Wednesday to review and discuss preparations for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, which is scheduled to commence on July 3.

The high-level meeting was attended by a host of senior political leaders across the ideological spectrum, including Chief Minister Shri Omar Abdullah; BJP leaders Sat Sharma, Dr. Nirmal Singh and Kavinder Gupta; Congress leaders Tara Chand and Ghulam Ahmad Mir; National Conference’s Showkat Ahmad Mir and Jagdish Singh Azad; CPI(M) leader Mohamad Yousuf Tarigami; J&K Peoples Conference chief Sajad Gani Lone; J&K Apni Party’s Altaf Bukhari; PDP’s Iltija Mufti; and J&K People’s Democratic Front leader Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen.

During the interaction, the Lieutenant Governor elaborated on the robust security arrangements, infrastructural enhancements, and logistical support being put in place by the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board, administration, J&K Police, and security forces to ensure a smooth, safe, and spiritually enriching pilgrimage.

“With the blessings of Baba Amarnath and the strengthened facilities, this year’s Yatra will not only be memorable but also symbolize a fresh chapter of peace and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir,” the Lieutenant Governor remarked.

He expressed gratitude for the constructive suggestions provided by the leaders and sought their continued cooperation in making the Yatra seamless for thousands of pilgrims from across the country.

“The leaders of all political parties are integral members of the J&K family. The Yatra is not just a religious journey but a shared socio-cultural responsibility. Let us work together, shoulder to shoulder, to make it a grand success,” said LG Sinha.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and the other political leaders present echoed their full support for the administration’s efforts and reaffirmed their commitment to the success of the Yatra. They emphasized that the pilgrimage is deeply embedded in the composite cultural ethos of Jammu and Kashmir and plays a pivotal role in boosting the region’s economy.

The leaders also made a fervent appeal to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to uphold the tradition of hospitality and communal harmony by welcoming pilgrims with open arms.

Condemning the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, the leaders observed that the strong public outcry across Kashmir Valley, cutting across political affiliations, sent an unambiguous message to adversaries that violence has no place in the region. They underscored that such incidents must not deter the collective resolve to ensure peace and normalcy.

The meeting concluded with a unified commitment from all stakeholders to ensure that the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra remains peaceful, well-organized, and a testament to the region’s enduring spiritual and cultural legacy.
