Poonch, Nov 16 : The death toll in Poonch accident has mounted to two as the injured driver has succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday evening at Government Medical College and Hospital Rajouri.
Earlier, a selection grade police constable Shoaib Ahmed lost his life while five others personnel sustained injuries in this accident that took place near Bufliyaz in Surankote of Poonch district.
The ill-fated vehicle was an escort vehicle of SSP Poonch and was part of cavalcade moving with Divisional Commissioner, Jammu who was on a two-day tour of Poonch district.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that five police personnel sustained injuries in this accident who were shifted to Sub District Hospital Surankote wherefrom four injured were referred to Government Medical College and Hospital.
“During treatment of injuries in Government Medical College and Hospital Rajouri, the injured gypsy driver identified as Sham Lal succumbed, taking the toll in this accident to two,” said officials.
Medical Superintendent of Hospital, Dr. Mehmood Hussain said that the injured driver died while other injured are undergoing treatment in hospital and all of them are critical—(KNO)
