Tral, 2 Aug: Residents are facing significant challenges due to poor network connectivity in the Parigam area of Awantipora in South Kashmir.
The locals from Parigam village in Pulwama district face hardships due to low network connectivity provided by leading telecom providers like Airtel and Jio.
Shakir Ahmad, a 25-year-old local resident, said that they are suffering from low connectivity service. “If the problem continues, then we need to look for another telecom provider which is running well,” Ahmad told Kashmir Despatch.
Students highlighted the impact of low connectivity on education, stressing the urgent need for improved network services in the village. “In these modern times, every student is learning from the internet, which helps us access e-resources and online material, but here in this village, we are facing acute network problems that need to be solved on a priority basis,” a group of students said.
“We are facing a lot of inconvenience in this modern and technology era due to poor network coverage in our village, which has impacted every aspect of our life. We are unable to communicate with other family members residing outside,” Ubaid Ashraf, another local resident, stated.
Ashraf further said that when they call someone, they need to move from their homes to get a proper signal.
Ishaq Posh, an area coordinator of one of the telecom service providers, said, “We are checking the coverage solutions as we have received the complaints some days back from the business team. We have taken this matter up with our higher authorities,” Posh said.
Locals sought the attention of higher authorities for resolving this matter on a priority basis.
