Under the chairmanship of Mr Gayas u din Teli special meet for debriefing ISRRT World Congress 2022 at Bangkok Thailand was held by ISRT JK and ISRT Srinagar Academic Club to learn from Our Representatives Of J&K who recently attended International Conference.
MrGayas u din Teli Chairman and Mr Bilal Ahmad Allaie vice chairman Congratulated and felicitated Miss Syed Nahida and Mr Wajid Hamid from Team ISRT JK for representing State chapter with National Delegation in International Society of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists (ISRRT World Congress at Bangkok Thailand.
Miss Syed Nahida and Mr Wajid Hamid Dar briefly mentioned about ISRRT World Congress 2022 International Exposure of the academic and Professional Conference at Bangkok Thailand.Miss Syed Nahida said, It was a wonderful experience in every sense,outstanding Educational Programme including focus on research projects featuring both developed and developing countries global look on healthcare departments .World congress ISRRT 2022 hosted breakout sessions featuring education and research focusing on cutting edge technology,new imaging and treatment procedures in wide variety of specialties. Academic and scientific presentations inclined with the theme of conference “Patient Safety” .The main aim of conference was to bring in attention of Patient care and Patient safety Worldwide.
As a Diagnostic and Therapeutic Medical imaging professionals,patient safety is a key tenet of our practice no matter what modality we specialise in. Whenever patients arrive at our departments and are under our care,it is our responsibility to ensure that their physical and psychological safety is protected. Patient safety is one of the pillars that radiographers strive to uphold in diagnostic imaging and in interventional imaging.
The other key points that we got to learn and what every Radiographer or Radiological Technologist needs to learn is to Improve knowledge and learning in patient safety,Raise awareness. Improve effective communication,Improve safety of high alert medication,Ensure correct site, correct procedure, correct side,Reduce the risk of healthcare infections,Personal accountability,Patient safety concern in children and pregnant women,Education and registration,Prevention of reaction to contrast agents.
Bilal Dar Secretary ISRT JK and all members present in meet one again congratulated Miss Syed Nahida and Mr Wajid Hamid for Attending World Congress at Bangkok Thailand.Mr Bila Dar said A common reason that Radiology Technologists enter the profession is “to help others”. Patient safety is an essential component of the Radiographers’ responsibilities in helping others.Radiographers are educationally prepared and clinical competent to perform examinations ensuring patient safety. Focussing Patient safety issues will definitely strengthen the health-care system anywhere in world.The national policy for patient safety should also include norms, standards and codes of ethics on patient safety.

Mr.Mahesh Ps is the Technical Assistant & RSO in Department of Imaging Sciences & Interventional Radiology, SCTIMST, Trivandrum.
