New Delhi, Dec : The Government of India has officially accepted the resignation of Shri Navneet Kumar Sehgal from the post of Chairman, Prasar Bharati, the country’s public service broadcaster.
According to a communication issued by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (I&B), BA-P Division, to Navneet Sehgal as per details, I am directed to refer to your notice dated 02.12.2025 submitting your resignation from the post of Chairman, Prasar Bharati and to say that as per Section-7(6) of the Prasar Bharati (Broadcasting Corporation of India) Act, 1990, the competent authority has accepted the same.
The communique signed by A.M. Kumar, Director (BAP), states that Sehgal has been relieved from his duties with immediate effect.
Sehgal, a senior bureaucrat known for long administrative experience, had assumed the role of Chairman of Prasar Bharati, overseeing key operations of Doordarshan and All India Radio.
Further details on the appointment of an interim or new Chairperson are awaited from the Ministry. (KNC)
