Condemns Kashmiri Pandit’s Killing

Srinagar: People’s Democratic Party Chief and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday stated that prayer leaders and other religious leaders should appeal to people to live with brotherhood, unity in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Taking to the media on the sidelines of a function in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district, the PDP chief as per Kashmir Despatch Correspondent, said that what was the fault of Kashmiri Pandith, who despite having rejected to leave Kashmir and to live with the people of Kashmir, has been killed, is really condemnable.
She said this is really a painful and inhuman act of the gunmen who killed this innocent Kashmiri pandit who had decided to live with the people of this state, and after 35 years, he had been killed. This is really an unfortunate.
The PDP chief, however, appealed to all the prayer leaders and other religious leaders to make people understand about the brotherhood and to live with unity because of such killings, there are losses to the people of Jammu and Kashmir only.
Pertinently militants fired upon a Kashmiri Pandit identified as Pandit Poran Krishan Bhat son of Tarak Nath Bhat, a resident of Choudhary Gund Shopian from close range at his residence.
He was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
