Srinagar/02-07-24/ The Principle secretary agriculture production department j&k Shri Shailendra Kumar today chaired a meeting of concerned officers and took stock of the functioning of enforcement wing of the Department of Agriculture.
While addressing the meeting principle secretary said Department is committed to safeguard the interests of farming community of the region. He exhorted upon the concerned officers to remain in close coordination with the officers of extension wing of the department in order to get effective results in the overall working of the department. He highlighted the importance of transparency and accountibility in the system to ensure smooth distribution of quality pesticides, fertilizers and other inputs to the growers and farmers. He said that the primary objective of the law enforcement wing of the department is to ensure the availability of quality inputs to the farming community of the region, through proper sale outlets.133 samples has been drawn for Fertilizer as on date for the year 2024-25. 835 Fertilizer sample drawn for previous financial year of 2023-24.The concerned officers must ensure that all the provisions of insecticides act, fertilizer control order are implemented in letter and spirit, he added
The meeting was attended by Director Agriculture Kashmir, Director Law enforcement, Deputy Director Law Enforcement, Plant Protection Officer Kashmir, District Law Enforcement officers and other officer of the Department.
