Kupwara, Nov 14: Several prominent religious scholars and political leaders Sunday condoled the demise of revered preacher Peer Shams-ud-Din, who left for heavenly abode last Friday.
Sheikh-ul-Hadees Mufti Nazir Ahmad Qasmi terming the demise of Peer Shams-ud-Din a big loss, said that it is very hard to fulfill the void created by his death. “Peer Shams-ud-Din was a noble soul and was also a spiritual person and very close to Allah”, Qasmi said.
“Not only Kupwara but the whole of Kashmir has lost an invaluable asset”, Qasmi said adding his contributions towards the upliftment of Islamic education will be remembered for the times to come.
The scholar extended his heartfelt condolences with the bereaved family particularly with Peer Ab Rasheed – son of Peer Shams-ud-Din – in this hour of grief.
Prominent religious scholar Maulana Arshid Nadvi also paid his rich tributes to the revered religious preacher.
Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Imam-ud-Din along with his family members visited the makeshift residence of the deceased preacher at Masjid Murshideen to offer his condolences to the bereaved family.
Syed-ur-Rehman Shamas on behalf of Mirwaiz Maulvi Umar Farooq conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family especially to Peer Abdul Rasheed.
Several mainstream political leaders including Peoples Conference Patron Sajad Gani Lone, National Conference leaders Shareef-ud-Din Shariq and Qaiser Jamsheed Lone also visited to extend their heartfelt condolences with the family.
Peoples Democratic Party Patron telephonically extended her heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family. Terming the death of Peer Shams-ud-Din as a personal loss, Mufti said that all the party leaders are in complete solidarity with the family in these testing times. Kashmir Glory News
