Srinagar, Mar 8 : Government of India (GoI) is likely to launch a massive crackdown to attach properties of some 150 militants, in Jammu and Kashmir, operating across the border, sources said.

They told Kashmir Despatch that the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, is mulling over to launch an all out drive to attach properties across various districts of the Union Territory. “There already are properties of around 150 militants on the radar of the agencies, which may go under the hammer sooner than later”, they said adding 36 such properties have been identified in Kishtwar district.

“The GoI is heading towards a zero-tolerance towards militancy, be it in any manifestation”, they said.

Notably, National Investigation Agency (NIA) attached properties of three militants which included founder and Chief Commander of Al-Umar Mujahideen Mushtaq Ahmad Zargar, alias Latram, Pakistan-based militant commander Basit Reshi in Sopore and of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) Commander Bashir Ahmad Pir, a resident of Babarpora Kralpora Kupwara – who was killed last month in Pakistan’s Rawalpindi.
