Protest against shortage of docs at MCH hospital in Sopore

Sopore, Dec 24 : Scores of people including women took out a protest outside ”Mother and Child Hospital” in North Kashmir’s Sopore town against the shortage of doctors.

Reports said protestors hold a protest demonstration against health department and blocked road outside MCH hospital Sopore.

Reports added that vehicle movement on Sopore –Srinagar road had come to a complete two hours halt due to the protest.

Protestors raised the slogans in favour of their demands and demanded proper staff and doctors in Mother and Child Hospital Sopore.

A police party later reached the spot and assured the protestors that matter will be taken to higher authorities of health department.

Meanwhile when contacted Block Medical officer Sopore Dr Sami termed all it allegation and said that we have a proper staff at hospital, he said that three doctors cant reach with the huge rush of patiants but they are trying hard to tackle with the rush like big hospitals. Dr Sami however added that still there will be weaknesses but to hit the streets is not the solution. BMO Sopore further said that if patiants are demanding to change the staff here we will work on it.

While termed the report of Dr Sumaira forcing poor patiants to visit their private clinics wrong, BMO said that if patiants have proof they should come forward sothat departmentally action will be taken against the concern Doctor.
