Srinagar: Private Schools Association of Jammu and Kashmir (PSAJK) has congratulated Prof Neelofer Khan on being appointed as Vice Chancellor of Kashmir University.
The Association in a statement said that it is a big day for the education sector of Kashmir as it is for the first time that a woman has become vice chancellor of any university here. “Appointment of Prof Neelofer Khan for the top post at KU reflects our continued success with education sector and women empowerment.
With shattering of another glass ceiling, Prof Neelofer Khan has become an inspiration for lakhs of girl students.
It has boosted their confidence that with hard work and determination they can achieve anything they want,” said a spokesperson of PSAJK.
The Association said that the appointment to Prof Neelofer Khan comes at a crucial time when all stakeholders of education sector are coming together for devising ways to efficiently implement New Education Policy (NEP).
“Under NEP, our goal is provide quality, knowledge and skill based education to students of both schools and colleges and university. Prof Neelofer Khan knows inner working of education at all levels.
We are sure that she will connect stakeholders of Higher education and Lower school education and bring them together on a roadmap to NEP,” said the Spokesperson. “We are looking forward to work with her for the better future of our student community.”
Meanwhile Coaching Centres Association Kashmir (CCAK) in its congratulatory message said that appointment of Prof Neelofer Khan as VC of Kashmir University has come at a crucial time when education sector is emerging out of last two years of hard times. “It is indeed a good news for the education sector that Prof Neelofer Khan has been appointed as VC of KU. Last two years have been very hard for our education sector with students suffering right from kindergarten to those preparing for professional examinations. We need a compassionate and a professional guidance at this juncture and Prof Neelofer is best suited for the job. We are sure that under her guidance the entire education sector and higher education in particular will be back to original glory in minimum possible time,” said a spokesperson of PSAJK.
The Association said that Prof Neelofer Khan is a brilliant academician and educationist who knows the pulse of the society, its problems and how they can be addressed. “Prof Neelofer is a powerhouse of knowledge and she knows how education sector can be improved in Kashmir. We are sure that under her experience and talent, Kashmir University will achieve new heights of success and it will also have a pleasant spillover effect on the entire education sector,” he said.
