Sopore, April 20 : A team of Wular Conservation and Management Authority (WUCMA) and Forest Protection Force (FPF) on Monday seized a punt gun from the wullar-lake, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Asia and largest flood basin of Kashmir in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
An official told Kashmir Despatch that a 12-feet long punt gun, a boat and live shells were seized from a poacher during a raid.
The officer said in this regard a FIR was also registered against the poacher who identified as Ghulam Muhammad Sofi of Kehnusa Ghat Bandipora.
Pertinently, The punt gun is a large shotgun used for shooting large number of waterfowl.
