Hope better sense prevails upon government to release other detainees.
Srinagar : Former legislator and Senior leader Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party, Rafi Ahmad Mir has welcomed the government’s decision to revoke PSA detention of Omar Abdullah.
In a statement issued here, Mir said that “our party welcomes the release of Omar Abdullah, it is high time that government also releases other detainees who are languishing in jails outside J&K”.
We hope that better sense prevails upon the government to realise that all political detainees should be freed immediately forthwith, so that a free and fair political process is restored”, said Rafi.
He also urged the government to release former J&K CM and PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti, “we have always pitched for release of former CMs and other political activists, in our meeting with the Prime Minister and later Union Home Minister, we have vociferously raised this demand, he added.
