Anantnag, Oct 6: Government Medical College Anantnag has taken disciplinary action in the matter of ragging in Boys Hostel of the institution.
As per a order, reports regarding an incident of ragging in the Boys Hostel on intervening night of 28th/29th September 2026 were received in the office of Principal GMC Anantnag.
The Anti-Ragging Committee GMC Anantnag took cognizance of the matter and conducted a detailed impartial and exhaustive enquiry into the allegations affording due opportunity and without prejudice to any party.
The Committee submitted its findings to the Principal wherein involvement of students of MBBS Batch 2025 has been established.
Upon consideration of findings and recommendations of Anti-Ragging Committee, Principal GMC Anantnag has ordered that the named students shall stand suspended from Boys Hostel GMC Anantnag and shall stand evicted from their hostel accommodation with immediate effect till further orders to ensure safe and secure environment for hostel residents.
The students shall also stand suspended from all academic activities including theory and practical classes clinical postings and examinations with immediate effect and till further orders.
Further parents/guardians of the students shall accompany their wards and present themselves before the Anti-Ragging Committee GMC Anantnag on 12/10/2026 at 02:30 PM positively for further proceedings in the matter.
The order states that failure to comply with directions shall result in initiation of further disciplinary action as envisaged under National Medical Commission Anti-Ragging Regulations and institutional statutes.
