Bandipora, September 11: Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Sangathan organised a meeting of former Sarpanches and Panchs from the Bandipora Assembly Constituency at the Congress Office, Bandipora, to discuss issues concerning Panchayati Raj Institutions and preparations for strengthening grassroots-level activities.
The meeting was attended by Congress Chief Whip, J&K and MLA Bandipora, Advocate Nizamuddin Bhat, Er. Mudasir Lolabi, Chairman of the Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Sangathan J&K; Sangathan Incharge J&K Hira Lal Thakur; Congress District President Bandipo Advocate Sheikh Farooq Habeeb and District Senior Vice President Inamul Haq Bhat, who hosted the programme and coordinated the participation of former grassroots representatives, along with other party leaders.
Participants discussed the role of Panchayati Raj Institutions in strengthening public participation and local governance.They also highlighted the significant contribution of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and the Congress Party towards empowering grassroots democratic institutions.
The interaction also focused on strengthening Congress activities at the grassroots level and ensuring greater participation of former representatives and local workers in organisational and public affairs.
