Bandipora, Aug 23 : Razdan Top, the only road link connecting Gurez valley with Bandipora, experienced a spell of fresh light snowfall on Saturday, bringing temperatures down in the higher reaches.
Officials said the light snowfall began in the early hours, though traffic movement on the Bandipora–Gurez road remained open. The change in weather has brought cheer to locals and tourists alike, though authorities have advised commuters to drive cautiously due to slippery conditions on the mountainous stretch.
The Meteorological Department has forecast more light to moderate precipitation in the higher reaches of north Kashmir over the next 24 hours. [KNT]
