Reasi Court Complex Celebrates 77th Republic Day with Patriotic Fervour

REASI, Jan 26: In compliance with the directions of the Hon’ble High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, the 77th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at the District Court Complex, Reasi, on Monday.
The celebrations commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag by Mr. Khalil Choudhary, Worthy Principal District & Sessions Judge, Reasi, who greeted the gathering and highlighted the historical and constitutional significance of Republic Day. He underlined the importance of the Indian Constitution in safeguarding democratic values, justice, equality and the rule of law, while also stressing the role of the judiciary in upholding these principles.
The programme witnessed the presence of a large number of dignitaries and stakeholders from the judicial, legal and administrative fraternity. Among those present were Ms. Geeta Kumar, Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM), Reasi; Ms. Pooja Gupta, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Reasi; Ms. Mehajbeen Akhter, Chairperson, Juvenile Justice Board (JJB), Reasi; Ms. Shivali Sharma, Munsiff, Reasi; Ms. Aastha Sharma, Additional Special Mobile Magistrate, Reasi; and Prosecuting Officers of the District Court, Reasi.
The event was also attended by Mr. Pawan Dev Singh, President, Bar Association Reasi, along with members of the Bar Association, Reasi. Chief Legal Aid Defence Counsel (LADC), Deputy and Assistant LADCs, along with their staff members, were also present on the occasion. Judicial staff of District Court Reasi and officials of DLSA Reasi actively participated in the celebrations.
Adding vibrancy to the programme, Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) of DLSA Reasi, ex-servicemen, teachers and students of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Reasi and Government Boys Higher Secondary School Reasi participated enthusiastically. Students presented a series of colourful cultural performances, including patriotic songs and dance items, which were highly appreciated by the audience. Advocates and PLVs also contributed to the cultural segment, reflecting a strong spirit of national unity and pride.
The programme further saw the participation of esteemed guests and representatives from various departments of District Reasi, including the Police Department, Municipal Council Reasi, J&K Bank Reasi, Punjab National Bank (PNB) Reasi, Floriculture Department Reasi, Power Development Department (PDD) Reasi, Public Works Department (PWD) Reasi, Information Department Reasi, CRPF and Salal Power Station, signifying inter-departmental coordination and collective celebration of the national occasion.
Thereafter, a felicitation ceremony was organised wherein the Principal District & Sessions Judge, Reasi, along with the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Reasi, and Secretary DLSA Reasi, distributed trophies and certificates among those who actively cooperated and participated in the Republic Day celebrations. The felicitation acknowledged the efforts of students, staff members, advocates and volunteers who contributed to making the event a grand success.
The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks presented by Ms. Pooja Gupta, Secretary, DLSA Reasi, who expressed gratitude to the Principal District & Sessions Judge, Reasi, all judicial officers, members of the Bar, participating departments, students, volunteers and staff for their wholehearted cooperation and support in successfully celebrating the 77th Republic Day.
The event stood as a reflection of collective commitment towards constitutional values and national integrity, reinforcing the spirit of patriotism among all those present at the District Court Complex, Reasi.
