Apropos of the news report titled ‘Victim of Domestic Violence, Woman Battling For Life In Kupwara’ published by the Kashmir Despatch on May 10, 2023 wherein it was reported that a woman was allegedly beaten up by her husband and in-laws in north Kashmir’s Kupwara village on Tuesday has been strongly rebutted by the accused in the matter.
The accused who was inaccessible to our reporter at the time of occurance of this incident has now presented some irrefutable evidence on the basis of which this newspaper has concluded that the case is sub judice and need not to be highlighted before some final verdict is delivered by the Hon’ble court that is presnetly hearing the matter.
According to the accused Ishfaq Ahmad Bhat residnet of Lolab Kupwara there was a dispute between his family and his inlaws which was later amicably resolved by the intervention of some respectable persons before the honorable court of Judicial magistrate Chadoora, Budgam in which both the parties agreed on mutual negotiations and signed a mutual compromise agreement on certain conditions.
“Later, she (wife of the accused) came to my home and started the usual matrimonial life. After two months she visited to her parental home and came back on 9/05/2023 sans any prior information with pre planned hatched conspiracy and gave a fist blow to the kitchen glass window and gave a normal injury to her hand and went to police station Lalpora. On the next day, your newspaper published a news report using words like ‘attempt to Murder’ etc which I deny and has tarnished my image.
On time to time police station Lalpora has presented various reports to judicial magistrate Sogam, which were rejected by honrable court, that the investigation has not been made in letter and sprit etc. Therefore I deny all the allegations made on me without any authentic proof.”
In light of the above rebuttal and after listening to the version of the accused, the above mentioned story published on May 10, 2023 shall be deemed as withdrawn, till the court verdict is announced in the matter.
