Restoration of seniority a great health initiative: DAK

Date:

Srinagar, Jun 22 : Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) today on Saturday in a communiqué welcomed the restoration of seniority and transfers in health department.

Dr Suhail Naik president Doctors Association Kashmir DAK said, “It is worth appreciating and we are highly thankful to Financial Commissioner Health, Jammu and Kashmir for initiating comprehensive reformative up-gradation and cleaning up the vital health department from nepotism, favoritism and out of turn promotions.

Parachuting of some junior doctors who were having politico bureaucratic clout to administrator posts was a demoralizing situation for senior doctors and therefore their demotion to respective slots was dire need of hour to restore the pristine glory of sacrosanct profession.

Dr Owais H Dar General Secretary DAK said that such health reformatives are utmost important to run the system with dignity but there is still a huge gray area where concrete corrective measures are to taken to make this system vibrant and dynamic. There are still large number of junior administrators who have been left out and have not been touched Dr Owais added.

DAK stressed upon that, “all those administrators who have been illegally promoted should be demoted back to their original position and slot and merit, credibility and seniority should be given due consideration as per established recruitment rules”.

DAK is highly indebted to Advisor Health who initiated this process and hopes that this process of clean up will continue further which will go a long way in addressing the demands of aggrieved senior doctors besides restoring the discipline and seniority in the health department of J&K state.
