Ganderbal, Oct 08: A 62-year-old retired government employee of the Floriculture Department was found hanging at his residence in the Wussan area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Thursday, in a suspected case of suicide.
The deceased has been identified as Mohammed Amin Mir, son of late Mohammed Ramzan Mir, a resident of Wussan, Ganderbal.
According to reports, Mir, a retired employee of the Floriculture Department, allegedly died by suicide after hanging himself at his residence.
Soon after the incident was reported, a police team reached the spot and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.
The body was taken into custody, and the requisite legal and medico-legal formalities are being carried out as per the prescribed procedure.
Police have started further proceedings in the matter, while the exact circumstances leading to the incident are being ascertained.
