Retired police personnel stage protest in Jammu against alleged discrimination

Srinagar, Jul 05 : Non Gazetted Police Pensioners Welfare Forum Friday staged a protest in Jammu region under the leadership of its Chairman, Ajit Singh.

The protesters while holding banner of the association chanted slogans in favour of their demands.

They demanded that the pay anomaly should be given an effect of 1992, adding that they have met the Advisors in this regard who have formed committee to look into the matter.

He said that various Pay Anomaly Committees have already been formed and they too have given their opinion and approvals from time to time.

He also alleged discrimination with them with regard to pay grade, adding that the authorities must look into the matter at an earliest so that they could heave a sigh of relief.

Meanwhile, Singh praised the incumbent Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh for taking various favorable steps for them; many of the steps have been taken for the first time in the department which needs to be appreciated. (KNS)
