Six days have sped by and the Russian invasion of Ukraine has gone only further intense resulting in loss of life and property on both sides. The Ukrainians have been calling on help from the West but due to pacts & truce, certain lines can never be crossed.
Due absence of an equivalent defensive force, the Ukrainian government has even urged its citizens to take the arms and defend their country. This has made the situation on ground more chaotic because there will be no more distinguishment between a civilian and a military personnel.
In the meantime, citizens belonging to different countries have found themselves in the middle of a war which they had never anticipated coming their way. Thousands of such non-Ukrainians are stranded at the borders with Romania and Poland, hoping for an early rescue.
The citizens of India especially students have uploaded numerous SOS videos online pleading to be taken back home. Some videos also showed that Ukrainian polie beating some the students that enraged many while add to the agony of their parents.
More than 100 students from J&K are also stranded in this wartorn region while government is taking all the requisite measures to bring all Indians back home safe.
However, today it was officially confirmed that an Indian student lost his life in shelling in Kharkiv this morning. It was said that the Ministry has been in touch with the bereaved family while conveying deepest condolences to them.
The Government has ensured that rapid rescue operation of Indian natives will be carried out in the shortest span of time in order to ensure that no more precious life is lost. The parents and rest of fellow citizens herein in J&K are eagerly waiting for the return of their dear ones.
