SRINAGAR: Senior journalist Reyaz Wani’s father Abdul Rehman Wani passed away last week. He was a librarian and posted for most of his career in hometown Baramulla. He was unwell for some time.
People who knew Wani said he has hugely contributed in making book reading popular in Baramulla town. He was well respected in social circles and people acknowledged his contributions.
Family sources said Wani was unwell and had to be hospitalised earlier. He was restricted to home and he breathed his last on Thursday morning. He was laid rest in their ancestral graveyard at Kanispora in Baramulla. The family received condolences ate their Baramulla home.
Wani is survived by a wife and his three sons, including Reyaz who is a senior journalist. All his sons are settled.
