Sopore, June 27 : Amid growing scare of COVID-19 positive cases in north Kashmir’s Sopore town, authorities reimposed lockdown restrictions across the town.
Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said following the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, all shops are closed in the town today while public transport is also off the roads as a precautionary measure to tackle this deadly virus.
On Friday late Evening Deputy Commissioner Baramulla in a statement ordered Complete Lockdown in town which begins from today.
It is pertinent to mention here that Sopore town since week witnessed rapid growth in COVID-19 postive cases.
Meanwhile, earlier this day an elderly lady from Sopore town became victim of this deadly virus.
A health official told Kashmir Despatch that a 70-year-old lady from Sopore who died at SMHS on Friday evening was tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday.
With this fresh death the toll rises to 92 in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
