Srinagar, Mar 27 : Jammu and Kashmir Police in Pulwama said to have booked a ‘romour monger’ in the district on Wednesday.
“Today Police station Rajpora has registered FIR against one rumour monger namely Sameer Ahmed Paray son of Ab Rasheed Parray, resident of Kabikoot CB Nath as the said person has recently uploaded a false post on his fake Face book ID “Babar Azam” in which he has uploaded a photo depicting Arms and ammunition and has claimed that a new one from pulwama has joined militancy,” reads a statement.
The said person, the statement reads, has been found circulating incriminating content on social media there by disrupting public peace and tranquility.
“In this regard a Case FIR no 23/2024 u/s 505(b)/IPC has been registered in police station Rajpora and investigation set into motion.”
“General public is requested to abstain from posting any false content on social media. Strict action will be taken against any person found involved in posting malicious content on internet. Pulwama police is committed to the safety and security of its citizens,” the statement reads further.
