BANDIPORA, May 19: The rural business process outsourcing (BPO) center in Bandipora, located in the beautiful valley of Kashmir, has been a game-changer in creating employment opportunities for youths in the region, particularly for girls.

The BPO call center, located in the Mini Secretariat Bandipora, has been providing job opportunities to hundreds of youth, particularly girls in the Bandipora district, in which around 745 boys and girls have been trained so far while 172 are working in rural business process outsourcing (BPO).

Speaking with the Kashmir Despatch one of the employees, Faiqa (name changed) said that the BPO center provided by the government in Bandipora district has helped end unemployment and provided opportunities for educated youths. Unemployment can often lead to depression and dependence on family, but with this center, the girls who are now working in this center are independent and support themselves.

The BPO was virtually inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as part of the India BPO Promotion Scheme (IBPS) to provide employment to around 1.5 lakh people in the country, particularly in rural areas.

Another girl said that I have been working at the center for the past six years, gaining valuable experience. However, We appeal to the Government to address the issue of unemployment in Kashmir. The introduction of new companies in the region could be a potential solution to reduce unemployment and increase economic growth. With the support of the government, the creation of more job opportunities could lead to a better future for the people of Kashmir.

The team leader of the Bandipora BPO center, Shahid Ahmad, while speaking with the Kashmir Despatch said that the opening of a BPO center in Bandipora district is a commendable initiative by the government, especially given the high levels of unemployment in the region. By providing job opportunities to the youth of Bandipora, the BPO center is not only helping to alleviate the problem of unemployment but is also contributing to the economic development of the region.

Meanwhile, while giving details Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmed, said that the Rural Business Process Outsourcing center in Bandipora is a great initiative that has created employment opportunities for the youth in the region, particularly girls.

He said that the center has provided them with the necessary training and infrastructure to develop their skills and pursue their careers from their hometowns.

“We are committed to supporting such initiatives that aim to bring about positive change in the lives of our youth and help them become self-reliant”,he added.
