Nagrota, Aug 08: Sainik School Nagrota witnessed a significant day of inspiration and institutional development with the visit of Lieutenant General P K Mishra, UYSM, AVSM, YSM, SM, General Officer Commanding, White Knight Corps, who inaugurated newly constructed Synthetic Tennis, Volleyball, Basketball and Badminton Courts at the school. Mrs Archana Mishra, Zonal President AWWA White Knight Corps, also graced the occasion.
The visit underscored the close association between the Defence Forces and Sainik School Nagrota and provided an opportunity for the cadets and students to interact with and draw inspiration from the senior military leadership. A key highlight of the visit was the presentation of the GOC’s Medallion for Distinguished Service to four employees of the school in recognition of their exemplary dedication and contribution to the institution. The recipients were Shri Sandeep Kumar, Senior Master & PGT Chemistry, Shri Saroj Kumar Thakur, Lab Assistant, Shri Mahendra Singh Chauhan, PA to Principal and Shri Chunni Lal, GE (Mason). Their recognition brought into focus the important contribution of the school’s civilian staff in supporting academic excellence, administration and infrastructure development. Mrs Archana Mishra attended the Investiture Ceremony of Chinar Primary School, the junior wing of Sainik School Nagrota, where young students formally assumed their leadership responsibilities. The ceremony reflected the school’s emphasis on developing leadership, discipline, responsibility and a spirit of service from an early age. A colourful cultural programme by the students added vibrancy to the occasion and showcased their confidence, creativity and talent. A new Library was also inaugurated at Chinar Primary School, marking an important step towards encouraging reading, curiosity and intellectual development among young learners. The modern facility is intended to provide students with a stimulating environment to read, explore and learn beyond the classroom.
The newly inaugurated sports facilities are expected to significantly enhance the sporting environment at Sainik School Nagrota, providing cadets with better opportunities for systematic training and competitive preparation.
