‘Satisfied’ says Sajad Lone

Srinagar, August 22 : J&K Peoples Conference Chairman Sajad Gani Lone on Saturday expressed satisfaction over the stand of signatories of Gupkar Declaration and said party believes that only collective mechanism is the way out to get the taken away rights back.


Taking to micro blogging twitter, Lone tweeted, “A very satisfying day. We firmly believe that a collective mechanism is the only way out. It is no longer about power. It is about a struggle to get back what rightfully belongs to us. Thanks Dr. Farooq sahib, Mehbooba Ji and Tarigami sahib”.


Earlier signatories of Gupkar Declaration including Dr. Farooq Abdullah (JKNC), Ms. Mehbooba Mufti (JKPDP), Mr. GA Mir (JKPCC), Mr. MY Tarigami CPI(M), Mr. Sajad Gani Lone (JKPC) and Mr. Muzaffar Shah (JKANC) issued a joint statement regarding joint stand on decisions taken on August 5, 2019 when New Delhi scrapped special status of Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 and downgraded the erstwhile State into two UTs – Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.


“We all reiterate that we are bound, wholly, by the contents of the Gupkar Declaration and will unwaveringly adhere to it. We are committed to strive for the restoration of Articles 370 and 35A, the Constitution of J&K and the restoration of the State and any division of the State is unacceptable to us”, joint statement issued reads.
