New Delhi, September 1: The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the appointment of three serving High Court judges as Chief Justices of different High Courts across the country.
The recommendations were made during the Collegium meeting held on August 31, 2026, as part of the process for filling the posts of Chief Justices in the respective High Courts.
According to the statement issued following the meeting, Justice Sanjay K. Agrawal of the Chhattisgarh High Court has been recommended for appointment as the Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court.
The Collegium has also recommended Justice Alpesh Yeshvant Kogje of the Gujarat High Court for elevation as the Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
In a significant recommendation for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, Justice Dr Pushpendra Singh of the Rajasthan High Court has been proposed for appointment as the Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
The recommendations of the Supreme Court Collegium will now be processed through the prescribed procedure for appointment of the Chief Justices of the respective High Courts.
