Baramulla, Dec 21 : Authorities in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday ordered restrictions and gatherings on political parties on Tuesday and Wednesday in the district.
In a statement issued to Kashmir Despatch which reads, In view of the general security scenario preventing clashes between rival political parties and targeting of large gathering by Anti-National Elements /Anti-Social Elements on 22 and 23 i.e after the declaration of results of DDC Elections 2020 which may cause breach of peace and public tranquility in the District, Section 144 Cr.PC is promulgated in Baramulla District subject to the stipulations /restrictions as are specified herein below.
No processions/gatherings and use of loudspeakers or any other amplifying sound for making a speech or onnouncernents shall be allowed without proper permission of District Magistrate/Addl. District Magistrates/SDMs subject to prior NOC from the concerned SSPs/SDPO5 of respective jurisdictions as the case may be.
The restrictions imposed as above shall not be applicable for holding prayers in masjids or burial rites/ceremonies and in such cases /occasions, the duty concerned Executive Magistrates should be approached in order to prevent misconception about such religious occasions/ceremonies by law enforcement agencies who shall grant permission on the basis of overall situation keeping in view the security arrangements and clearance from concerned SSPs/SDPOs.
The SSP Baramulla/SSP Sopore shall enforce the restrictions notified above in letter and spirit the statement further reads.
