Srinagar, Nov 06 : Senior Congress leader Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz on Friday alleged that a section of administration is deliberately misleading public opinion on the question of the J&K State’s Special Status and its restoration.
According to statement issued here,Prof Soz said people of Jammu and Kashmir want to retore the rights snatched by New Delhi on Aug, 5 2019.
“What the people of the State demand is the restoration of Article 370 of the Constitution of India or its exact statutory equivalent. What a section of Administration in the state speaks of, is the restoration of statehood from Union Territory back to Jammu and Kashmir State, which is a deliberate attempt to mislead the people of the State”, he said.
Congress leader added that it was a folly on the part of the Central Government to have reduced the status of the J&K state into a Union Territory. They may or may not correct this folly but the people of the State essentially want restoration of the political status under Article 370 or its exact equivalent!
“The people of the J&K State must know that since the Central Government is hostile to the people of the State as for the dilution of Article 370 of the Constitution of India, it means that the people have to be ready for a sustained democratic and constitutional struggle for restoration of the political status guaranteed under Article 370 of the Constitution of India”, he said.
Soz further said the struggle of the people of the J&K State is for restoration of Article 370 or its exact equivalent in political and constitutional terms!
“The Kashmir Mainstream would be well advised to spearhead the movement in the right direction”, he continued.
