Security Breed Up, People Need Not To Worry: SSP Kupwara

Kupwara, Oct 11 : In the aftermath of recent civilian killings in parts of Kashmir, Senior Superintendent of Police Kupwara Yougal Kumar Manhas Monday said that security across the frontier district was beefed up especially at few particular locations to allay the fear of the people.

The top police officer of the district said that fear among the people was obvious in wake of incidents that took place at certain parts of the Valley.

Talking about the security situation in the frontier district, Manhas said that he along the District Magistrate visited and interacted with people from the minority communities keeping at various places across the district. “Wherever felt, the security level was accordingly augmented and mechanism put in place at few places to safeguard the lives of people”, Manhas said.

“Security forces are also well aware of the situation and there is no need for anyone to fear about anything for they are capable enough to protect the people”, Manhas said.

The officer said that there was a sizeable population of minority community members putting up at Lalpora and they are provided the adequate security.

“Nonetheless we are equally providing security to majority community as well for it is our duty to safeguard the lives of all people,” Manhas said, adding, “If anyone is feeling any sort of apprehension, such a person can approach to share his or her concern with the nearest police station or to DySP or even directly approach my office.” (GNS)
