Selling meat on excessive rates, Police register FIR against Khrew butcher

SRINAGAR, July 30 : Police on Wednesday registered an FIR against a butcher for selling mutton at exorbitant rates at Khrew area in South Kashmir.

An official told Kashmir Despatch that a butcher at Khrew identified as Siraj Farooq son of Farooq Ahmad Ganai was selling mutton at exorbitant rates at Khrew market.

As per officer the said butcher was selling mutton at the rate of Rs 550/ per kg while Govt. has fixed rate @ Rs 400. Acting tough against the over pricing, Police lodged an FIR aganst a butcher for selling mutton at exorbitant rates.

A police officer also confirmed to Kashmir Despatch and said a case FIR under relevant sections 3/7 EC Act has been registered and further investigation into the matter has been initiated.
