Sopore : A seminar titled ‘Post Geelani Era, Way Ahead For Soporeans Towards Development And Bonhomie Of Rich Culture’ was organized by Rashtriya Rifles at Dak Bungalow, Sopore.
On this occasion Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Bhupinder Kumar and SSP Sopore Sudhanshu Verma were present besides civil society members and other dignitaries.
The aim of the seminar was to instill the knowledge about the rich culture of Sopore and to inculcate the spirit of cohesiveness, thus ensuring young and dynamic youth of the town contributing towards a concentrated effort to preserve the cultural, educational, aesthetic and economic legacies.
On the sidelines of the seminar, an army official said that Sopore was once dominated by separatists and anti national elements, but the post Geelani era, Sopore saw a great change in terms of peace and less incidents of terror activities.
“The seminar served as a platform for awakening the mindfulness and interest of youth on cultural heritage in a friendly and interactive way,” he added.
A total of 68 youths participated in the seminar along with Nine guest speakers.
The speakers included Rayees Kuloo, Javed Bhat, Haji Ashraf, Mr Raquib ul Rashid, Furqan Janwari, Miss Sadiya, Miss Qurat and Younis Naikoo who shared thoughts and vision on the rich culture that Sopore owns.
The locals were very appreciative of the efforts of the Indian Army for creating awareness and providing youth a platform for putting their points and view across.
