Sopore,Jan 14 : Senior National Conference (NC) party leader on Thursday pitched for restoring the lost glory of Apple town Sopore.
Once a globally recognized town known for it’s fresh apples and fruit mandi, Sopore has witnessed continuous degradation past many years with state administration and officials neglecting the Sopore area of north Kashmir on a developmental scale.
The statement made by the senior NC leader came after the party won 10 out of 13 Municipal Council seats in Sopore area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Speaking to Kashmir Despatch, the senior National Conference leader said that the party will work for restoring the lost glory of Apple town Sopore.
“Jammu and Kashmir National Conference is aware that lot needs to be done for the people of Sopore,” the party leader said.
He said that Jammu and Kashmir National Conference and people associated with the party, the workers including those won the Municipal elections will work round the clock as they are committed for the development.
“Past several years, Sopore saw corruption, mismanagement by few people, negligence on a developmental scale. But we assure the people of Sopore and those who voted us to power that JKNC won’t let you down. We will work for the betterment of Sopore. We will restore the glory of Sopore very soon,” the party leader added.
Pertinently, out of 13 seats National Conference won 10, while 2 independent candidates and one PDP became winners.
