Urges community action against drugs

Sopore : In an effort to address the growing concern of drug use among young people in Sopore, the Station House Officer, Khalid Fayaz, spoke at a drug de-addiction awareness program on Saturday.
The officer emphasized the important role parents play in guiding their children towards making good choices and building strong relationships.
Speaking to a large gathering of people, Station House Officer Khalid Fayaz as per Kashmir Despatch Correspondent, stressed the importance of creating supportive and nurturing environments at home, as it directly influences children’s decisions to experiment with drugs and other illegal activities.
He encouraged parents to discuss the risks of drug use with their children early and often, as it can protect them from many of the high-risk behaviors associated with using these drugs.
Furthermore, SHO Khalid Fayaz urged the youth to maintain a constant vigil against the growing menace of drugs and cooperate with the police to put an end to drug consumption in the area.
He emphasized that parents are very powerful and can play a significant role in preventing drug use by building family skills.
This comes after the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Sopore also expressed concerns about drug use and called for cooperation from everyone in eradicating this menace from society.
The efforts of the police and community leaders are aimed at creating a safer and healthier environment for young people to thrive and make positive contributions to society.
